Old world elegance is something that never goes out of style. The Gilt Club takes its cues from a bygone era, with a personal style that feels like it wouldn’t be out of place one hundred years ago. Walk in off of Broadway, and you’ll see a dark room with tall, gigantic leather booths ready to envelop you, either for an after-work happy hour with friends or coworkers, or for a romantic dinner with your significant other.
Dinner at the Gilt Club is something that is a constantly shifting affair. Due to the constant influx in seasonal vegetables, the menu is persistent in changing to meet that demand. No matter what season it is, you should expect certain elements from your dinner at Gilt Club: the style of cooking is decidedly European, with the food fresh and locally sourced, featuring elegant twists on Northwest dishes, using meats in ways you won’t find anywhere else in the city.
The happy hour every weekday from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. is the other big feature at Gilt Club, as its highly stylized yet unchanging menu draws patrons in from across the city. The range of the menu goes from $1 items all the way up to $6 items. At the bottom of the price totem pole, you have house-made potato chips, glazed peanuts, and deviled eggs. At the top, though, you can get the pizza of the day or foie caramel corn, which is popcorn that has been tossed in foie gras-black trufle butter and then glazed and drizzled with caramel. Decadent and delicious.
The main drink feature at the Gilt Club is a Moscow Mule. This drink consists of vodka, a homemade ginger beer, lime, freshly grated ginger, and soda all served in a copper cup. It’s a cocktail as impressively looking as it is tasty. Beyond the Mule, the Gilt Club has a full bar that can accommodate any thirst you may have.
The Gilt Club is open Monday through Saturday from 5 p.m. until 2 a.m.
