The Emanon Cafe inhabits that small foodie no man’s land that exists between the Pearl District and Northwest 21st Avenue. Sure, there are numerous houses and shops to draw your attention and distract you, but when you want to get a bite to eat, you’ll need to go on a little trek. However, that works to the Emanon’s advantage. Because it’s in this area, you will find that its prices are much lower for food and drink than you will find in those cafes, bistros, and restaurants with more expensive real estate in the Pearl or on 21st Avenue.

The Emanon Cafe (Have you figured out that “Emanon” is “Noname” backwards yet?) a small neighborhood-oriented restaurant with a consistent clientele of regulars that come streaming in constantly through its doors. It’s found on the corner of Northwest Seventeenth Avenue and Lovejoy Street, on the lowest level of the Midtown Apartments building, with a black awning marking its place. During the warm sunny days, you will see the sidewalk surrounding Emanon also covered tables and chairs. Emanon Cafe has one of the more relaxing outdoor dining experiences in Northwest Portland, as its location keeps it away from the hustle and bustle of the Pearl and 21st Avenue.

The cuisine at Emanon Cafe is classic, unassuming, American comfort food. The food is made with love, and is made to fill you up. Lunch and dinner at Emanon Cafe feature numerous sandwiches (including its burger, which has a 1/3 pound patty), seafood staples such as mahi mahi fish and chips and prawn pasta, and a few different soups and salads. During the breakfast at Emanon Cafe, you can treat yourself to one of many different breakfast favorites all served with Emanon’s special breakfast potatoes. The breakfast menu has scrambles, benedicts, omelets, and pancakes to sate your morning hunger. Of course, Emanon also offers a happy hour from 3 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 3 p.m. until close on Saturday for you to get discounts on some of the place’s favorite items and drinks.

Emanon Cafe is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
